Britain's Fittest Farmer is coming to The Lincolnshire Show!

24 April 2023, News from our friends

Applications are open for Britain’s Fittest Farmer 2023 and for the first time, qualifiers will be held at the Lincolnshire Show! Farmers Weekly are inviting all those aged 18 and over who are passionate about health and wellbeing to compete in the qualifiers at the Lincolnshire Show on Wednesday 21st June.

Britain’s Fittest Farmer was launched in partnership with Farm Fitness, a hardcore outdoor gym set up by Essex farmer’s son Tom Kemp. The competition encourages a vital discussion about the physical and mental health of the nation’s farmers in a fun and friendly atmosphere. So, if you can outrun a fleeing flock of sheep or do press-ups in the milking parlour, you could be just the person Farmers Weekly is looking for.

The search is on to find individuals who will be crowned Britain’s Fittest Farmers 2023 in each of the three categories, Men under 40, Women under 40 and mixed over 40’s, with the coveted trophy and a £1,000 cash prize up for grabs for each winner.

How to apply:
To start your application, go to the Apply page of the Britain’s Fittest Farmer website. Fill in your details, answer a few questions about your connection with farming, what you do to keep in good shape and how you look after your mental wellbeing. Applicants also need to upload a video or photo of themselves.

Everyone who meets the judging criteria, will be invited to compete at one of the three qualifier locations:
• Devon County Show – Saturday 20th May
• Lincolnshire Show – Wednesday 21st June
• Royal Highland Show – Sunday 25th June
From this round, 10 men, 10 women and 10 mixed over 40s will be selected to proceed to the final stages of the competition, which will be held on Sunday 17th September at Farm Fitness, Tom Kemp’s farm in Dunmow.
