SHOWGROUND CATCHES AWARD WITH ITS 'INTERACTIVE' NEW WEBSITE

THE FUN and interactive new website for the Lincolnshire Show has won a prestigious award at the first Lincolnshire Digital Awards this week.

Talented designers behind the new website, Root Studio, was awarded with Innovation in Web Design for the colourful and educational re-brand of Lincolnshire Show's website as the showground gears up for this year's show on 24 and 25 June.

Tom Bradley, partner at Root Studio and graphic designer who worked on the show's project, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have won this award. We knew when we were designing the website that we were onto something special.

"It has been so great to work with the showground team who shared the same ideas as us to break the boundaries of what had previously been done.

"It is a very pleasant surprise and fingers crossed it will help even more visitors to see what is on offer at this year's show."

The Innovation in Web Design award recognises those who have made strides to push the boundaries of web design and development.

Judges said they found Root Studio's design of the Lincolnshire Show site to be 'lively and engaging right from the start'. They described it as 'a real call to buy tickets to attend the show, with great functionality to enable the user to plan their visit as the event draws closer.'

Amelia Chambers, marketing manager, said the Showground is absolutely delighted with all the hard work put in by Root Studio and its own showground team to create a website accessible to all - meeting the needs of its audience.

She said: "The new website has only been up and running for just over a month so we are delighted that already it has been recognised with an award.

"Root Studio has done an excellent job in meeting our needs and creating something which appeals to all ages – we love the new interactive element to it which will keep children entertained.

"It took a huge amount of time, effort and inspiration to break the boundaries of other county show websites so we are over the moon with the results.

"This is an exciting time for the Lincolnshire Show and we expect another fantastic year ahead."
