LEADING cancer charity, Macmillan Cancer Support is gearing up for two days of fundraising fun at this year's Lincolnshire Show.
The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society has pledged to give its full backing to Macmillan after awarding it the showground's official charity of the year status.
As part of the partnership, Lincolnshire Showground has pledged its backing to help the charity by providing trade space at this year's show on the 24 and 25 June.
Jayne Southall, CEO of the Lincolnshire Showground, said: "We are really pleased to support Macmillan as our chosen charity of the year.
"Macmillan is a vital charity that supports thousands of people coping with cancer throughout Lincolnshire.
"We look forward to welcoming Macmillan and volunteers to the showground and giving them pride of place among all of the exciting attractions coming to this year's show."
As well as showcasing how donations are spent locally through inspiring real life stories, Macmillan will be holding a V.I.P. drinks reception for special invited guests, hosted by Lady Halifax, president of the charity, during the show.
Macmillan health professionals will be on hand to answer questions, provide information and support anyone affected by cancer. There will also be an opportunity to meet local fundraising groups and committees.
The partnership will allow the charity promote its work at the many exciting attractions taking place at the showground throughout the year.
Sue Kirk, vice president of Macmillan Cancer Support, said: "We are thrilled to be part of this year's Lincolnshire Show as the Society's adopted charity of the year.
"This partnership will make an enormous difference to people affected by cancer in Lincolnshire and help us to fund vital cancer services, close to where people live.
"We know that cancer can be incredibly isolating and many people find it very difficult to talk about what they're going through. Our aim is to be there to support people with whatever needs they might have, whether it's practical help, information or emotional support.
"Come and visit us at the show to find out more about how donations are being spent locally."
Macmillan Cancer Support helps the 27,927 people living with cancer in Lincolnshire with everything from financial worries, to advice about work and emotional support.
This year's Lincolnshire Show is promising be the biggest and best yet with a variety of entertainment. As well as the Macmillan stall, there will be food stalls, live cookery demonstrations, animal displays and plenty of children's activities.
