KANGAROO KICKS COMING TO LINCS COUNTY SHOW AS TICKETS GO ON SALE

19 February 2015, Press Releases

SHOWGOERS can expect kangaroo kicks from The Kangaroo Kid as Lincolnshire's popular county show gears up for two days of high adrenaline family fun when the attraction comes to Lincolnshire Showground in June.

Tickets for the prestigious Lincolnshire Show are now on sale and easier than ever to get hold of with the launch of the Show's new website.

Featuring all of the latest show news, events and interactive, educational games to keep all ages entertained – the new website will keep little ones amused and tickets can be ordered early to avoid disappointment.

Jayne Southall, CEO of the Lincolnshire Showground, said: "The show is always two days of entertainment for everyone and this year promises to be the biggest and most varied Lincolnshire Show to date.

"We have a large variety of attractions and activities this year which are suitable for the whole family and truly highlight the best that Lincolnshire has to offer."

This year's main headline attractions at the Show on 24 and 25 June include The Kangaroo Kid - a stuntman from Brisbane who will be rocking the Clydesdale Bank Main Ring with his quadbike antics by performing some of the most dangerous stunts possible.

For those heading to the countryside ring, Lincolnshire Police Dogs will be showing off their clever skills and keen birdwatchers will be able to enjoy Cuerden Falconry – a display of the world's most wonderful birds including owls, hawks and eagles.

Crowds will also be amazed by talented horse riders and their show jumping skills in the main ring and a chainsaw sculpture show in the countryside ring will see wooden sculptures created using a chainsaw, in a matter of minutes.

Local chefs will be hosting a number of cooking demos in the demonstration kitchen and a wealth of food stalls displaying Lincolnshire's finest produce will be available to buy.

Visitor numbers were up at last year's 130th Lincolnshire Show by as much as 40 per cent in advanced online and phone ticket sales.

Jayne added that last year's results show a return in popularity of county shows and Lincolnshire has a lot to offer this year: "Last year we welcomed more than 60,000 attendees to the show and we hope to beat that figure this year.

"The main ring will be full of a variety of exciting demonstrations as well as some old favourites. It is really going to be a showstopper this year so make sure that you don't miss out."

Crowds will also be delighted by a selection of beautiful floral art, flower show and show gardens and those opting for a bit of retail therapy will be able to enjoy shopping stalls featuring items from local traders and those from further afield.
