130th Lincolnshire Show launches e-ticketing

3 April 2014, Press Releases

Celebrating its 130th year, The Lincolnshire Show, which is one of the largest and most prestigious county shows in the UK, has for the first time launched e-ticketing.

It's now easier than ever to see the hundreds of attractions including the thousands of livestock and big events in the main ring such as the RAF Falcons, Broke FMX, live cookery demonstrations and a range of local stalls – by simply buying tickets online.

Jayne Southall, Director of the Lincolnshire Showground and Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, said:

"The Lincolnshire Show is undoubtedly a county institution and we are immensely proud that this is our 130th year and the show is bigger, better and more diverse than ever.
"2014 is going to be a phenomenal show as we have such a huge range of attractions and activities for the whole family. No matter what age the show offers a jam-packed day out for everyone to see, experience, taste the best of Lincolnshire – be it from entertainers, farmers, producers or retailers.
"Now we have introduced our paper-free, quick and easy e-ticking system, I expect we will welcome even more guests this year."

There's a great line up of events, said Jayne. The main attractions include Broke FMX, a motocross bike athletics group pulling acrobat stunts at 35 feet in the air – and Doctor D's Science Days Workshops, which will wow the children with awe-inspiring science demonstrations and experiments.

The Food Court will be filled with exuberant chefs celebrating the best of Lincolnshire produce during the show. There will be cooking demonstrations from a range of local producers, including multi award winner Redhill Pork and Grimsby Fish Merchants Association – who supply 70% of the nation's chilled seafood.

As well as a wealth of food stalls displaying local produce, crowds will be delighted by floral decoration and flower shows, a sporting showcase, main ring entertainment, craft tents, animal displays, plenty of fantastic retail opportunities – and lots of live music.

There will also be entertainment by Simon Whitehead, a professional ferreter who will wow the crowds with his ferrets – and their skills.

Kids will be inspired in the Discovery Zone with workshops, comedy theatre and fun-filled entertainment provided by Lincoln Inspired. There will be the Cuerden Falconry display – with more than a dozen of the world's most amazing birds of prey, and Jive Pony – the UK's talented female equestrian display team – with their skipping horses and hula hooping horseback ballerinas.

Local choirs which are being brought together by Lincs FM will be performing the latest hits, and the award-winning dog show Agility Buds is taking time off from Crufts to entertain the crowds with remarkable routines.

Crowds will amaze at the Chainsaw Sculpture – seeing how a block of timber can be transformed into an amazing sculpture. The humorous and educational live Sheep Show in the Countryside Area about sheep and wool is always a favourite – Nobby the Norfolk Horn and his friends will be on display on both days.

"The main area will be full of a variety of exciting demonstrations for the whole family,"
"There will be old favourites as well as brand new entertainment for eight hours non-stop."

This year will also see a return of the Schools Challenge – now in its 21st year – where pupils from 45 schools will be competing against each other in a variety of challenges which look at the environment, sustainability, and agriculture.

As well as being a great day out for the family, the show is must-attend event for farmers and businesses.
