15 June 2015, Press Releases

A FASHION designer is celebrating in style after winning Lincolnshire Show's prestigious Grow with the Show competition.

The competition gives new business owners, aged between 18 and 30, the chance to use the annual show as a platform to kick-start their trade.

Emily Colley, 23, won this year's competition after entering with her lingerie and homewear design business, Boudoir Blushes.

She said: "I was so surprised to hear I had won. I have put a lot of hard work, effort and dedication into the business over the last six months and it is great to be recognised in this way.
"I feel very proud to have been chosen and I am honoured that the panel selected my business and my products to win the competition.
"Fashion design is a very challenging industry to be successful within, so I feel like I am getting one step closer to my dream."

Emily started Boudoir Blushes after graduating from university, where she began designing English and vintage inspired luxury garments. She entered the competition as she felt it was the perfect opportunity to expand and promote her business.

Emily added: "The prospect of gaining more awareness about Boudoir Blushes, and the services I can offer to the general public is very encouraging for the future of my business."

Jayne Southall, CEO of Lincolnshire Showground said

"Emma was an excellent candidate in the Grow with the Show competition."She gave us a great overview of her business and how she wishes to pursue it in the future and we were impressed by her determination and ambition to have the brand succeed. "We are looking very much forward to supporting her business and seeing her business go from strength to strength over the next year."
